Urgent Updates for cPanel 70, 76, and 78 and Exim CVE-2019-10149

A significant exploit had been identified in Exim. This exploit allows attackers to execute code as the root user on your server without authentication and was rated a 9.8 out of 10 in severity.

While Version 80 was never vulnerable to this exploit, and we released a patch for Version 78 last night, the recently End of Life Version 70 and Version 76 remained vulnerable. More details were released today, including information on exactly how to gain root access to a remote server.

Please refer this article for more details.

If you are using cPanel/WHM, please raise a ticket ASAP, and our team will help you to patch the exploit.

RAID 10 SSD VMs are back in stock

We have re-stocked RAID 10 SSD Compute instances. Note the SSD option when deploying your server, to ensure it is SSD 😀

Port 25 Limitations

To fight email SPAM, port 25 on all new and old Compute instances will be blocked upon instance creation.

If your instance needs to send emails which do not violate our policies against spamming you can raise a support ticket requesting to unblock port 25 with a valid use case.

Note: if your port was unblocked earlier, you shouldn’t worry

We are now cPanel NOC Partners!

cPanel/WHM has been the number one choice when it comes to paid hosting control panels (at least for us), and our clients love it. We’ve seen many clients start their hosting business on CloudCone utilizing cPanel/WHM

To provide better cPanel/WHM support and faster licensing, we are glad to announce the direct NOC partnership with cPanel.

Check out our partner page here and drop in a comment 😊

Thank you for choosing CloudCone!

Exciting Features for 2019

2018 has been great, and you have too! Here’s news from CloudCone to you!

Thank you ❤️for hosting with CloudCone, this update will give you a heads up on what we’ve been cooking this year, which I’m sure all of you were waiting for!

Snapshots

The biggest request on our feature requests area topping the most significant number of thumbs up is instant snapshots of your VMs, and I’m happy to inform you that we have a production-ready Snapshot system, to be launched.

Status: Production Ready, awaiting UI implementation.

Block Storage

Movable block storage, let’s you easily attach and detach storage to your existing VMs and move them between VMs

Status: Production Ready, awaiting UI implementation.

Load balancers

A load balancer is an appliance that can adapt to a growing workload. If you run high availability application clusters, this appliance will come in handy 😉It lets you add/remove child virtual instances which enables you to balance the load for your application and provide effective delivery of your application to your end users

Status: Production Ready, awaiting UI implementation.

Autoscaling

In early 2018 we launched Cloud View, which lets you analyze and view in-depth stats within your virtual machine. This was initially started to investigate your cloud workloads and give you set autoscaling conditions such as

if RAM Usage > 60% Add 1 GB of RAM upto 5GB (Max)

We’ve finally had autoscaling in a production ready state, which will be rolled out soon for all of you at no extra fees 🙌

Guaranteed VM Isolation and Disk Improvements

On this update, we will have automated isolation strategies in place for all our Customers and make sure your websites and sites hosted on CloudCone will be much faster. Which includes better CPU, Disk and Network isolation for your servers

That’s all I’m about to spoil 😁we have three more exciting features which will be a secret, and our team is much excited to introduce them to you once we have it on our client area!

In the course of the next two months, we will be carrying out periodic maintenance to our existing infrastructure to allow all these features enabled for all your existing Cloud Instances, we will announce them on our status page found here
